Resources for CAD and 3D printing
This is a collection of CAD and fused filament fabrication (FFF) resources I find useful.
CAD Software
OpenSCAD
OpenSCAD — The Programmers Solid 3D CAD Modeller.
Useful libraries:
- BOSL2 — The Belfry OpenScad Library, v2. Simply put, it’s a library of new capabilities for OpenSCAD.
- YAPP_Box — A Parametric Projectbox generator
OnShape
OnShape has become my preferred graphical CAD software ever since I moved to Linux everywhere. I used Autodesk Fusion before that, but getting it to work on Linux was a whole adventure, so I tried OnShape and stuck with it ever since for complex designs.
3D printing
- Design for 3D-Printing by Rahix — like every manufacturing process, FFF has its own limitations and oddities. This guide explains how to acommodate them, get the strongest parts, and have a good fabrication experience overall.
Slicers
PrusaSlicer is my current favorite, mostly for its great integration with PrusaLink.
